HOW AND WHY OUR EYEBROWS CHANGE AS WE AGE?

Vicki Lane

Unlike men whose eyebrows get bushier as they get older, women’s sadly don’t! Our eyebrows start to look thinner generally, patchy and sparse, the front of the eyebrows and the tails can start to recede and the tails can droop. This doesn’t happen symmetrically, so brows can look different to each other. Brow hair can also get more coarse and of course, turn grey or white.

So what’s causing this? There are many reasons:

  • Grooming – plucking, waxing and shaving can weaken the hair follicles and eventually they don’t grow back.

  • Hormonal changes, alopecia, menopause

  • Skin conditions

  • Deficiencies

All of these changes can make our eyes and faces look droopy but there is something you can do about it and give yourself a mini facelift, making your eyes look more open and a more youthful appearance generally.

Microblading replaces the hairstrokes that are missing, filling in sparse areas, replacing the fronts and tails, creating more of an arch and returning them to a slightly thicker brow can take years off of your appearance and an extra bonus is not spending time trying to get each brow looking the same every morning!!
